DragonGods

The ruins of civilisation lie everywhere as testament to what existed before the Cataclysm. Stories tell that in ancient times, the Gods gave their blessings to their chosen people. The tales vary, but one thing they agree on is that a mortal had the hubris to attempt to rival their power. In response, the Gods united to call down the Cataclysm upon the world destroying the ancient nations of the shattered lands.
Since then, those few scraps of civilisation have struggled to survive amongst the ruins. Over three centuries since the Cataclysm, groups have come together to start rebuilding in earnest. At the same time, the Gods have started to once again answer the prayers of the devoted. As these new nations grow in strength, it is inevitable that they will start to compete with each other to rule over the world of the Dragon Gods!
In this game, the players are significant members of a nation. Blessed with wonderous magical powers, the insight of an oracle, the strength of a legendary warrior or the cunning of an elite spy, the player characters are looked to by their nations for leadership as the nations emerge from the destruction of the Cataclysm. The rise of these new nations, each one sponsored by one of the Dragon Gods, will not be without great challenge - there are still dangerous monsters, hoards of blood thirsty enemies and hidden secrets that may hide more danger that all other sources.
Amongst the ruins of civilization after the Cataclysm small groups huddled together for mutual protection against the dangers in a post-Cataclysm world. Some of these groups grew over the years and started to build some of the trappings of civilisation. There are now twelve groups that qualify as nations and each one has been selected by one of the Dragon Gods to sponsor them. This gave each of these new nations an edge that others didn't have - the support of many priests given access to divine magic - something new to the post Cataclysm world.
There are twelve Nations, one for each one of the Gods.
